Hello dear community, welcome to my profile! Help me restore and old farm house with a big orchard and upcoming vegetable garden in Central Portugal while enjoying the quiet, smell and peace of the surrounding nature. :-) My name is Laura, I am 57 years (young) and from Germany. I have bought a beautiful property of 12,000 m2 (including a forrest and two wells) with a Quinta plus two annexes and a ruin back in 2021. Even though I have several professional building companies there are still a lot minor things to do around the house to make it a home with normal living standards. The garden has almost 50 young fruit trees and 50 old oliver trees, but other than that I did not have the chance to do magic yet… I have been a volunteer during my one-year-world-tour myself and I would appreciate some dedicated, quite independant (while helping) and skilled helpers myself now. :-) Building:

• support my friend with the roof insulation
• build a little roof for the entrance
• paint interior walls
• upgrade the entrances with stone
• build some stone stairs

Garden:

• build a new chicken coop
• burn garden waste
• re-dig the little winter stream
• dig some drainage ditches
• build a platform for the bell tent
• support the awning with two posts
• build a little stone wall along the winding pathway down to the wells
• cut off the new olive branches
• in hotter periods: help water the fruit trees
• create a herb snail
• weeding …

-> House Sitting: As I need to leave the area for some private reasons I need also reliable house sitters (with references) for

• mid May 10-14 days
• mid June for 16 days
• August/September

• At times there is only the outdoor toilet available.
• Rural and hilly area, I have a library (German and English literature).
• For stays longer than two weeks there should be a trial period of one week.
• You do not have to be vaccinated.
• There is space for one campervan.
• Next city: Ferreira do Zezere, next big city: Tomar (Templar city)
• Airports: Lisbon (2 h by train), Porto (4.5 h by train)
• Sea: 70 min. by car (Sao Pedro de Moel or Nazaré)
• Big clean lake with watersports and quite spots (Castelo de Bode): 15 min. by car
• Two bikes available (that are hopefully fixed soon)
• Music: My acoustic guitar waits to be played. I have also a roll piano and some percussion instruments. I love to sing!
• As the nights are usually humid (even in the summer) rubber boots are recommended (I have two pairs to borrow though).
• I kindly ask for devoted 4-5 hours of help per day, 5 days a week.
• I would describe myself as an experienced host. :-)
• Cooking and dishes are shared and not part of the help.
• Meals: I myself prefer local vegetables. But I can offer meat on the weekends as well. A strict vegan or keto diet is hard to realize though. :-) Gluten free is no problem.
