I grew up in a working-class family and learned early on what it means to roll up your sleeves. After ten years of schooling I trained as a carpenter. After that I spent over a decade in the hospitality industry: as a waiter, behind the bar, in bars, pubs and restaurants – right in the middle of real life. On the side I founded my own small business and organised events. Even though the company no longer exists today, I learned a lot during that time – above all how to take on responsibility independently and get things off the ground. Later I trained with TÜV Nord as a specialist in building technology and caretaker services. Since then I've been working as a caretaker in a care facility – work that suits me well and where I deal with all kinds of different people every day. What else defines me? I like learning by doing. Gardening, mowing lawns, pressure washing, maintaining pools, growing vegetables, preserving or fermenting food – I've tried lots of things and taught myself a lot. And there's definitely more to come! What am I like? At heart: always good. Open to new things. More left than right – but happiest talking with everyone. Sometimes a bit of a loner, but I enjoy company. Humour is important to me, and so is freedom. Hard-working when it counts. Everyone should live as they like – as long as mutual respect is never lost.
