Breathing New Life into an Old Farmstead

Hello—we’re currently in the process of restoring an old farmhouse to its former glory; it comes with quite a bit of land. It’s in the countryside, beautifully situated, right in the middle of Lower Saxony. Now we’re looking for a partner to join us (reliable, level-headed, handy, with experience working outdoors—and ideally an outdoor, nature, and animal lover with strong nerves). We actually have a basic level of living comfort depending on the situation, and the project is in the reconstruction phase :-)—so overall, it’s best suited for “undemanding hikers and nature lovers,” rather than city escapees in the modern sense. To start with, we could set up a construction trailer or use a tent, depending on the level of comfort expected—this needs to be discussed on-site. The duration and specific use of the building can be worked out together. What’s important, though, is a somewhat unconventional—yet at the same time traditional—“hands-on” mindset. We’d rather get things done than get bogged down in nitpicking details, but everything in moderation and with a sense of humor. Permaculture, however, is not our approach; we’re not ideologues or do-gooders, but we’d like to live well and happily—without being stuffy.
