Part-time job in the Azores

Description

I live on the sunny side of Faial Island, in a rural area in an old, renovated stone house with a garden and terraces. The property includes meadows with fruit trees and pastures. My sister/roommate will be away from October 22 through November 8, and her room—which includes a private bathroom and a small terrace—is available. The kitchen and the rest of the living space are available for shared use. I need help painting a donkey stable; it was built this spring and needs weather protection for the coming winter. I’d also like to install a gate at the back of the pasture, where there’s a wooden fence that needs to be modified accordingly. Someone with experience could probably get everything done in 2–3 days, but here in the Azores, a lot depends on the weather, and work often has to be interrupted when it rains. That’s why I’d plan for a week—that way, you can be flexible with your work schedule and still have time to explore the island. In October, it’s still pleasantly warm; the climate here is temperate subtropical and humid. I’ll provide breakfast, and we can cook together. My diet is mainly vegetarian, but I also enjoy eating fish—and very rarely, meat.

What's included

A car is available for running errands and taking trips around the island. The female donkeys love to go for walks, and we can set off together from the pasture, wandering through meadows and fields with a view of the endless sea.
