For the period from 15 June to 3 July I'm looking for a pet sitter – during the day, for 3-4 days while I'm at work. My working days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. What? My dog (Mini Australian Shepherd, 9 years old) is well trained and normally relaxed. She wants to "be there" and "join in" – is very cooperative and attentive. Needs loving consistency, exercise, "brain food" and enough rest breaks to "wind down". She's used to being alone for up to 5 hours at a time. Where? We live in Seelbach near Lahr on the edge of the Black Forest. While you're here, you'll live in a small house share in a spacious old building. There are three of us living here, four with you, on a total of ~ 200m² of living and usable space + ~250m² of yard & garden, barbecue area, surroundings Seelbach is idyllically located in the central Black Forest between Freiburg and Straßbourg (~ 45 minutes to Freiburg), is a town of 5000 inhabitants with small-town flair, beautiful surroundings and friendly people – and everything you need: pubs and restaurants, farmers' market, swimming pool, sauna, two supermarkets, health food shop, doctors, schools, adult education centre, etc. – Lahr is about 5km away, with around 48,000 inhabitants. If you'd like to live "close to nature in the countryside" and yet in "civilisation" with good infrastructure connections, this is exactly the right place – ideal for digital nomads – a break where others go on holiday. Living You'll have the 16m² guest room at your disposal. It's furnished with a bed, chest of drawers and desk. Of course you'll use the kitchen, dining room, living room and daylight bathroom with bathtub on the same floor, which you'll share with the other housemates. There's also a guest toilet on that floor. The furnishings are rather simple, but technically state of the art. There's lots of space and a workshop, laundry room, … on the ground floor. You'll largely provide your own food, contribute to the utility costs for electricity, water etc., and take part in our house-share life (cleaning duties, joint activities, …). We other housemates look forward to shared evenings or outings – or you'll have time to explore the region. About us: There are normally three of us living here in the house: A woman in her 60s, humorous, friendly and open-minded. I'm female, 52, open-minded, creative, sometimes introverted, love nature, art, culture, and am undogmatic and pragmatic by nature. One room is currently being re-let. We value quiet and harmonious cohabitation – and a clean living environment. We'd like guests for whom pitching in independently and responsibly and integrating into our environment are a matter of course. ____________________________________ Leisure activities Holiday in the central Black Forest in the heart of Europe – many day-trip destinations (Alsace, Switzerland, Black Forest), relaxation with hiking or cycling in the immediate vicinity. Spa with sauna area as well as an outdoor pool locally, Europapark, Freiburg, Strasbourg each about 1 hour's drive. Art and culture: Museums: art galleries (Baden-Baden, Basel, Karlsruhe, Strasbourg), regional history (Freiburg, Strasbourg, Gutach/Schwarzwaldbahn, Karlsruhe, ..) Theme park: Europapark, approx. 45 min away, other theme parks: Wolf and Bear Park, wildlife enclosure. Zoos: Karsruhe; Basel, Mulhouse. ___________________________________ Briefly summarised, my expectations and conditions: What the task is: – Looking after the dog on 3-4 days, approx. 2-4 hours/day: regular playing, going for walks. – Help with a few jobs around the house (painting) – You integrate into our house share and take on your share of the household organisation – You are reliable, dependable and trustworthy – You provide your own food What I can offer: – almost free holiday in the Black Forest (depends on how much "working time" you offer in return: a contribution towards water, electricity, etc. is therefore requested) – swimming pool, spa nearby – close to nature, good hiking opportunities all around – near Europa-Park, near the French border to Alsace – many other destinations in the region Not wanted: – parties or multiple guests – smoking allowed in the house, no open fire – shoes in the house ;) What you bring: – private liability insurance – a get-to-know meeting takes place before moving in – a deposit by arrangement – signing a joint agreement – we have to get along as people :) We look forward to your short application with name, age, interests and hobbies, dog experience, and your idea of living together.
