A Break with Donkeys ~ Upper Lusatia: Fields, Meadows, Forests, a Chance to Slow Down, a Secluded Spot

Hello, My name is Sina, and in April 2022, my husband and I moved from the city to the countryside. We live in a village with 60 residents, across from an imposing castle, surrounded by a park, fields, meadows, and forests—in the beautiful Upper Lusatia region. We share our home with two delightful female donkeys, whom we provide with a species-appropriate home. Lani and Blümchen live in an open stable with a paddock that wraps around our house, and they’re free to choose where they’d like to be. Our vision is to create a place on our farm for meaningful connections. You can already take a break in our “EselGlück” vacation rental. There’s also a seminar room for small-group programs. I offer workshops, seminars, and retreats on our farm myself, and other coaches and trainers can rent the space for their programs as well. Distance to the nearest cities: Bautzen, Görlitz approx. 20 min // Zittau approx. 45 min // Dresden approx. 1 h // Leipzig and Chemnitz approx. 1.5 h // Berlin and Potsdam approx. 2 h // Wrocław approx. 2 h // Prague approx. 2.5 h We’re always happy to welcome energetic, open-minded, and kind-hearted people. We offer a room for 1–2 adults with a private shower room (shared use of our kitchen) or our vacation apartment (with its own kitchen and bathroom), provided it isn’t currently rented out. 1–2 friendly dogs are also welcome. In return, we’d like 4 hours of help per person per day, e.g., with stable work, household chores, small construction projects for the donkeys, or around and inside the house (renovations, sanding and painting wooden windows, cleaning radiators, washing windows, etc.), chopping and stacking firewood, gardening, or… we’re sure to find something that suits you ;-) Or you’re also welcome to help improve our two websites (www.fewo-esellgueck.de and www.wildeswunderweib.de) and other marketing channels. If the timing works out, we’d also love to show you around the region or fire up the grill or fire pit =) Notes * This offer is valid only for adults * Non-smoking accommodation * Transfer to/from the train station in Bautzen, Görlitz, Löbau, or Reichenbach/Oberlausitz is available * We can accommodate 1–2 house-trained and well-behaved guest dogs Stays are available year-round: >> Minimum 2 nights, for those from the immediate area who would like to help us on a recurring basis, e.g., for a weekend shift. >> Or for a one-time volunteer stay of at least 5 and up to 14 nights.
