Friendly helpers wanted for the OLIVE HARVEST TUSCANY 2024 COMMUNITY-EXPERIENCE-HOLIDAY SANTA MARIA DI CICIANO Experience how the liquid gold is crafted through the finest handwork. Olive oil from Tuscany is among the highest-quality oils in Italy. In our Paradis Oasis Santa Maria di Ciciano you can pick it yourself! In the sheltered south-facing slopes below Chiusdino, an oil with finely rounded, robust aromas and low acidity ripens. Come to Santa Maria and experience the olive harvest up close! The olive harvest takes place between mid-October and mid-November and lasts about 6 days with us. As a rule, the olive pickers each stay for one week. What matters is the willingness to put yourself at the service of a common cause during these days. Olive harvesting is truly a joy — all day outside under these mythological healing trees in the company of nice people, and in the evening a rich multi-course dinner. Afterwards you sleep deeply and soundly and dream of olives... OLIVE HARVEST 2024 Sun. 27.10. – Sat. 02.11.24 Arrival Sat. 26.10. Earlier arrival and a longer stay are of course possible! A working day begins after a hearty breakfast with laying out the nets. Then the trees are harvested, usually in small groups of two or three helpers. Once a tree is harvested, the olives in the net are hand-sorted and made ready for transport to the oil mill. Around midday we take a little pranzo snack break, either on the sunny terrace or under the trees in the olive grove. The workday ends at dusk. Until dinner there's then time to be by yourself or to enjoy the evening with the other pickers. The little lunch breaks, cooking the multi-course dinners together (Italian cuisine) and the usually still mild weather contribute significantly to making the olive harvest an unforgettable experience. And of course you won't go home empty-handed: as a farewell, everyone receives freshly pressed olive oil! Helping out as a 'Good Fairy' during the olive harvest A special kind of participation is helping out as a 'Good Fairy' during the olive harvest period. You love being out in nature, you have a flair for beautiful things, enjoy helping out and also preparing delicious dishes for the hard-working helpers, setting and clearing the table, keeping the kitchen in order — simply taking on all the tasks that need doing in a guest operation during the olive harvest? Then you're exactly right with us and we warmly welcome you. WE OFFER: ...free accommodation in our two wonderful historic holiday houses (each with 2 rooms with a double bed) and meals. Working hours: 6-7 days, each from approx. 11 a.m. (once the dew is off the trees) until dusk...
