Hello, my name is Dennis, I'm 36 years old and a trained electrician for energy & building technology. For the last 10 years I worked at Heidelberg Cement as a shift electrician, but was unfortunately laid off due to massive job cuts as part of a company restructuring. I'd say that I'm a fast learner, talented in various trades, goal-oriented and conscientious, which means I succeed at many things with satisfying results. After my dismissal, a difficult time began for me that continues to this day. My ex-girlfriend left me after a 13-year relationship, taking our two children (6 & 9 years old, whom I miss very much), my mother got cancer and has since passed away. My father cut off contact with me without reason after her death. In addition, I'm quite heavily in debt due to loans for home furnishings, renovation etc. taken out during the relationship with my ex-girlfriend, and my naive belief back then that my shift wages would be securely available until the end of my days. Because of the debt and the resulting negative Schufa credit report, I haven't been able to find my own flat for over a year now and have been living with friends, in asylum shelters, and at times outdoors. Financially, almost all of my citizen's benefit goes towards debt repayments, and since I'm not mobile, I can't find permanent work anywhere despite my top qualifications. I can't even get the Deutschland Ticket because of the negative Schufa report. All of this led to depression and two suicide attempts in the past year. I would love to have the opportunity for a fresh start somewhere and the chance to regain some quality of life
