Hello everyone, My name is Christine (66); I’m a social worker from Germany and recently retired. After many fulfilling years in my career, I finally have the time to fulfill a long-cherished wish: to spend a few winter months in Spain, getting to know the country, the people, and daily life there. Maybe someone knows someone who is looking for reliable and warm-hearted support during the winter months. From mid-December through the end of March or April, I’m looking for an opportunity to house-sit, exchange care for a vacation, or provide help with daily life. 🐾 Animals are especially close to my heart Animals have been a part of my life since childhood. I’ve lived with my own dogs and cats for many years and have frequently cared for friends’ and neighbors’ pets, including older animals or those requiring more intensive care. I don’t just provide basic care—I look after their well-being with genuine affection, patience, and attention. I often hear from pet owners that their pets quickly come to trust me and feel at ease with me. 🏡 House, Yard, and Practical Help I’m happy to take care of the house, apartment, yard, plants, and anything else that needs attention while you’re away. I enjoy gardening and will pitch in wherever help is needed. Tidiness, cleanliness, and treating others’ property with respect are a given for me. 👵 Companionship and Support for Older Adults As a social worker, I’ve spent many years supporting people in various life situations. Through this experience, I’ve learned just how valuable time, attention, and reliability can be. I’m happy to keep older adults company, accompany them on walks, help with small errands, or simply be there for conversations and shared activities. Often, it’s the little bits of help in everyday life that make life more enjoyable. 👧 Support for Families Thanks to my professional experience, I bring in-depth knowledge in supporting neurodivergent children and adults, particularly in the areas of ADHD and autism. If a family occasionally needs support, I’m happy to provide it. However, I view this as an additional service and not a requirement. 💻 My Daily Life In addition to my retirement, I continue to teach prospective school support specialists online for about ten hours a week and am working on a book. I enjoy reading and writing, am interested in people, cultures, and life stories, and look forward to new encounters. As someone with wide-ranging interests, I enjoy getting to know places not as a tourist, but through everyday life.
