House by the Lake

Hi, Beate (75) and Hartmut (74) are the ones behind this ad. We’re open to meeting new people. We’re now retired. We moved from northern Germany to Sweden almost 20 years ago. Unfortunately, Beate is severely limited by her Parkinson’s disease. But she helps out as much as she can. Maybe this way we’ll find nice people who can support us on a long-term basis. We’d like to meet a few times beforehand to see if we get along. We’re looking for kind-hearted people to help us maintain the houses and garden on our 4,100 m² lakeside property. This includes, among other things, painting the exterior walls and windows, trimming overgrown plants in the garden, preparing and watering the raised beds, helping with household chores, or assisting Hartmut with smaller construction projects…  We’ve fully furnished a guest house. It features a bathroom with a shower, a kitchen, a bedroom, a living/dining room with a fireplace and TV, Wi-Fi… as well as a terrace with a lake view. It’s about 10 meters from there to the lake. Here you can swim, go canoeing… Boats, canoes, and bicycles are, of course, available. In the surrounding area, you can go for hours-long walks in the forest and, depending on the season, pick berries or mushrooms… You can take the bus to Karlskrona. Kalmar, Öland, Småland, and the “Glass Kingdom” are practically right on our doorstep.  If you don’t have a car, no problem—we’d be happy to pick you up from the nearest train station. The nearest place to shop is about 10 km away from us. You can get there by biking through the forest, paddling there by canoe (very adventurous and athletic), or simply ride with us to go shopping.
