Hausrenovierung in Irland mitten in der Natur

Hello, we are Matthias, our daughter Tilda, our little dog Momo and me, Eva. We emigrated from Germany to Ireland two years ago and have been living in Cork ever since. Through my parents, I had already spent a lot of time in Ireland before, and my parents own a house with a small piece of land in Co. Clare. Now we want to take over the house from them and get it ready as a holiday home, as sustainably as possible. There is a lot to do in, on and around the house. From cleaning, painting, small and large repairs to garden work – everything's included. We would be very happy about support and offer free accommodation there and a few lovely weeks in nature. The house is fully habitable, i.e. electricity, heating and water are available. However, the water comes from the lake and we don't know how clean it is. We only use it for showering and washing up; otherwise we get drinking water from the village (buy it or fill up with tap water for free) or bring it with us from Cork. The house is very rustic, old and needs a thorough clean. Downstairs we have a lot of damp in one room and in the kitchen. The kitchen is also to be completely removed and restored so that a builder friend can dry out the walls. He's also there regularly, lives down the road and carries out larger repairs. The house has four rooms (three bedrooms, two of which are currently usable, and a study), a living room with an open fireplace, a large eat-in kitchen and a bathroom. The house has a large garden, which is quite overgrown at the moment. On my parents' property there are two small lakes, and by one lake a little nutshell of a boat is ready for boating or fishing. The nearest place to shop is about 7km away. Unfortunately, we probably can't provide a car all the time, but we can get hold of a bicycle and figure out together how best to solve it. We would be there every few days, but as we live about 2.5 hours away, we always have to see how it fits in with work. We look forward to hearing from you!
