Ogkeln Medicinal Herb Demonstration Garden near Bad Schmiedeberg

Open from April through October and organized by herb categories, the herb garden is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in herbs in the Dübener Heide Nature Park. Nature—especially the herbs—offers us its help, which we can accept if we have the necessary knowledge. I’m always grateful for any support that comes from the heart. You can learn a great deal here—I’m constantly amazed at how quickly volunteers can independently identify a wide variety of herbs after just a few days. Here’s some information about our daily routine: Watering the plants for sale and decoration—the herb beds don’t need any water. Then there’s pruning; you’re welcome to take plant material home—I only dry herbs for my own use. Weeds, of course, can always be removed. Some small areas need to be re-mulched. And, of course, plants are potted for sale or for stock. If you’re artistically inclined, feel free to make wreaths or garden decorations. You’re also welcome to participate in my events.
