We are looking for motivated, flexible, adaptable, open-minded, communicative and dedicated volunteers who are keen to immerse themselves in Tanzanian culture and traditions. During your volunteer placement, we ask you to approach the new culture with an open heart and an open mind – it will likely differ significantly from your home country. You play an important role by providing valuable support, help and individual attention – all of which is crucial for the growth and development of our children. As a volunteer, you support our team in everyday life: you feed our children, do exercises with them, play with them or go for walks. And time and again there's the opportunity to go to the nearby beach together and enjoy the day in the water and the white sand – our children love it! If you're handy or have office experience, you'll also find plenty of ways to get involved with us – there's always something to do in and around the house. As you can see, many tasks await you – and you decide where you can create the greatest value for our team. In short: • Childcare (playing, entertaining) • Going to the sea or the pool with the children • Helping the children with meals • Walks with the children • Helping in the household • Small handicraft jobs in and around the house • Office support Your work makes a difference! Thank you – Asante sana! You work five days a week for about eight hours each, with two days off to recover or explore the surroundings. There is a comfortable volunteer room in our house. Meals are fully included – you eat together with our team and the children: • Breakfast • Lunch • Dinner You will have the opportunity to experience everyday life in Tanzania up close. Life here is probably very different from what you're used to – and that's exactly what makes it so exciting! What does a market in Dar es Salaam look like? Where do the locals spend their days off? What does it feel like to get around with a Bajaji (tuktuk) or Piki Piki (motorcycle taxi)? And what exactly is Chipsi Mayai (chips omelette)? If you're open and curious, you'll have plenty of opportunities to see, hear, taste, smell and experience Tanzania – in a very special way. We also offer a preparation workshop before you start your placement with us. In this workshop you'll be professionally guided and optimally prepared for your time with us. Together we reflect on cultural differences, possible challenges, as well as your role and your contribution to our project. Before your stay, you can spend a few weeks in Zanzibar to learn Swahili. And after your time with us, you might feel like discovering some of Tanzania's most beautiful places – for example Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Mount Kilimanjaro or Zanzibar, to name just a few. During your volunteering experience, we ask you to keep an open heart and mind towards the new culture around you – it will likely be very different from your home country. You will play an important role by providing valuable support, assistance, and individual attention – all of which are essential for the growth and development of our children.As a volunteer, you will support our staff in their daily work: feeding our children, doing exercises, playing, and going for walks with them. There’s also the chance to take them to the nearby beach to enjoy the day together – they absolutely love the water and the white sand! If you have DIY or office skills, there’s always something to do in and around the house. As you can see, there are many meaningful tasks waiting for you – and it’s up to you to decide where you can bring the most value to our team.
