A very special adventure awaits you here – a stay with heart and hands and a heavenly view! In harmony with nature, we are creating our new centre of life and work in a magical place. We, Therés (illustrator, designer) and Gioacchino (engineer, developer of sustainable concepts), are shaping two abandoned gardens (Alba and Tramonto) on a cliff above a bay with a breathtaking view (in Apulia, Salento). We are in the process of awakening this place, structuring it, rebuilding it, healing plants and soil, reforesting it with regional, drought-resistant plants, creating an edible forest garden and, in this enchanting spot, creating space for ourselves as well as for botany, art, creativity, culture, small events, workshops etc. and simply for BEING. Our personal standards for beauty, design, high-quality natural materials and enjoyment are always at the centre of it all. We live here as sustainably as possible, 100% organic, mostly vegan. Living with us are the two cats Gaia and Greta* WHAT WE OFFER YOU: • a magically beautiful spot in the guest garden ALBA for 2 – 4 weeks for camping or to stay with your car/small van (NO motorhomes!!!) under one of the pines. WE OFFER YOU A SPOT IN THE GARDEN/tent – NO – ROOMS! • we're happy to provide our large cosy bell tent for 1-2 people for your stay. • the chance to get stuck in, gain new experiences, try things out and enjoy your time by the sea. • cooking facilities are available in the guest garden (Alba) with a small camping gas stove or over the campfire. • You basically cater for yourself, but occasionally we can also happily cook together. • an Etruscan outdoor bathroom (i.e. a dry toilet for number twos – with an ash-wood-shavings mixture for covering = works very well!), "peeing" freely in the garden • a garden shower with cold or warmer water depending on the weather and a gigantic view of the bay awaits you. (So there is no bathroom with hot water or the like) • water from our well as well as osmosis-filtered water for drinking and cooking • energy supply (for charging your phone etc.) via a small solar system in the guest garden, no fixed power supply! • On foot, you can walk down the hill in 10 min. to the small village on the beach for small errands. There's a small grocery shop, a bakery, a vegetable stand, bars and restaurants (most of it only seasonal from about May to September/October). • The nearest small towns are each about 7-8 km away – for example Nardò or Gallipoli. • The sea and beach can be reached on foot (approx. 10 min), as can the nearest small seaside villages (approx. 20 min). • in autumn, winter and spring, silence, storms, waves, sun, rain … natural spectacles and completely empty beaches await you here, where you can swim all year round – in summer there's music in the air, often all night, often loud too, shimmering heat, very lively beach life and the clear turquoise warm sea. • Space for 1 – 2 people, • it is NOT possible to bring your own pets! WHAT WE EXPECT: • 3 – 4 hours of help per day (depending on whether you cater for yourself or are partly fed by us) in the gardens: • planting and garden work (lots of plucking, weeding, watering, planting, pruning …) • manual tasks e.g. putting up small walls, building constructions with us • clearing firebreaks and planting along their edges … depending on what currently has priority • occasionally, in our absence, also pet sitting, fire watch, looking after plants … • mindful, sensitive and appreciative treatment of our plants, animals and all things We look forward to highly motivated, skilled and curious people (experience in gardening, woodwork, clay building, masonry, electrics, PV etc. is very welcome, but not a must) who want to share in our enthusiasm for nature, the sea and the revival of this piece of land for a few weeks and don't keep looking at the clock.
