Description

Looking for close-to-nature accommodation over the summer in exchange for helping out on a farm, country estate, stud farm or private property — preferably with animals. I need a simple room with a WC and shower facilities, possibly with shared use of a fridge and washing machine, or space to set up my own appliances. My Eurasier dog is well trained and also gets along with other dogs, rarely barks. Before retiring I was self-employed for many years in preventive fire protection, but I also have experience in animal husbandry, as I kept sheep myself, and over 50 years of experience with horses in keeping, breeding and training (focus on leisure or western riding). If desired, I can also give riding lessons or support with young horse training. In recent years I've discovered my passion for woodworking and can also bring my own machines like a table saw, drill press, sanders, etc. if needed. Preparing firewood (sawing and splitting) is also possible with my own machines. Otherwise I'm also familiar with simple installation work (water/sewage, no electrics!), as I partly renovated an old farm myself a few years ago. I also know garden and/or field work, provided it's not only the bent-over posture that's required. Since I, as a "late father", still have quite young children myself (15 and 19) and also have experience working with children and young people through my club work in the riding and driving association, I could also get involved in children's holiday activities or in running holiday camps. (Of course, an extended criminal record certificate can be presented on request) Driving licence also for trailers up to 3.5 t.
