A farmstead on the edge of the forest near the Baltic Sea

Hello everyone, For anyone who appreciates a simple, rustic lifestyle, has modest expectations for accommodations, and would like to spend a vacation surrounded by nature in exchange for helping out, I OFFER: – A small room for one to two people with a stove in a 150-year-old former wheelwright’s workshop right on the edge of the forest, five kilometers from the Baltic Sea. – Refrigerator – Firewood (must be sawed and split with an axe yourself) – portable hot plates (2), or alternatively a gas stove – an old bathroom from Grandma Gila, painted purple, with a sink, toilet, and shower - NO Wi-Fi (but good cell phone reception) Two folding bikes are available for excursions in the area; alternatively, a two-person tandem bike can be borrowed. Please bring your own food and bedding; full board (organic/vegetarian/vegan) is also available depending on your willingness to help out. Hot water is only available from old water heaters that need to be preheated. The entire farm, including the living quarters, is in desperate need of renovation and has no heating. I’M LOOKING FOR: Help for two hours a day with one of the following construction projects: #1: Renovation of an old shed (removing the old floor, new roof, new doors, new windows, etc.). #2: Outdoor/gardening work. Shoveling dirt, clearing brush from the wildlife fence, sawing/splitting wood, etc. WHEN: Starting in May 2026. At least two days, longer is welcome. All other details to be arranged.  ! UPDATE (April 3, 2026): During the first two weeks of June (June 1–12, 2026), there will be an intensive work phase for which I’m still looking for volunteers to help for 4–5 hours a day. Organic meals will be provided during this phase. For those who don’t want to sleep in the house—there’s plenty of space on the meadow by the forest for tents or campers.
