About Me Warm greetings from Dortmund! I’ve been retired since July 2025—but I’m certainly not in “couch mode.” I feel most at home when I can help and am needed, whether it’s with household chores, around the house, or taking care of pets. After more than 40 years working as a librarian and online editor at an institute, I made a conscious decision to treat myself to a completely new experience: four months working at a bed-and-breakfast in Burgundy. That time felt like a whole new world to me—and that’s exactly what I loved about it. I find new tasks, new people, different places, and ways of life to be enriching. I love to travel, enjoy learning new things, and thrive in unfamiliar situations. Reliability, a sense of responsibility, and a willingness to go the extra mile come naturally to me. Household chores, providing guest services, and working with animals—especially dogs—come very naturally to me. After a brief orientation, I quickly get the hang of other tasks and am flexible in my role. I look forward to contributing my time, experience, and energy in a meaningful way while getting to know new places (I love the mountains and hiking, but I’m open to many things) and people.   About me: Warm greetings from Dortmund!
