We (21 & 23) are building, step by step, a self-sufficiency place in the Waldviertel (Hofamt Priel, near the Danube) that combines close-to-nature, conscious living with a high level of comfort. Our aim is to show how good a simple, healthy lifestyle in harmony with nature can feel. We are nature-loving, health-conscious, creative (both studying product and graphic design) and enjoy being active. We laugh a lot, love working with our hands and – when it fits – also go on outings together with you (e.g. to the Danube, swimming or small tours). We're looking for support from 20 June until mid-October (shorter stays are also possible – then with daily help). With us you have the chance to really take something away: you'll learn basic craft skills, develop a feel for materials and get insights into permaculture and building up a self-sufficiency place. From our property you have a view of the Ötscher. A swimming pond and the Danube can be reached by bike, with hiking routes right in the area. Sauna/infrared is available, a hot tub is planned. What awaits you: • Garden and building projects (planting trees, walls, irrigation, etc.) • Craftwork indoors and outdoors (wooden deck, tiling, furniture building) • Building a permaculture garden from scratch • Lots of time outdoors, movement and a mindful daily routine Conditions: • 2 sleeping spots in the house (private room, kitchen & bathroom) • Tent pitches (basic, with toilet access) • WiFi available Getting here: • Train station: Ybbs an der Donau • Pick-up & drop-off possible • A car is an advantage but not necessary • Bicycles available, occasional rides possible Helping out: • House: approx. 4–5 h/day | Tent: approx. 2–3 h/day • At least 2 days off/week • Flexible, weather-dependent hours (usually mornings, but adjustable – no night work) • We usually work together, sometimes splitting up tasks • Guidance is available at any time Meals: • Organic, sometimes cooking together, barbecues in summer • All diets welcome Who we're looking for: • Enjoyment of physical work & nature • Interest in crafts, gardening, permaculture • Reliability & initiative • Craft experience is a plus Are you roughly between 20 and 35 and keen to lend a hand?
