Volunteer on a regenerative farm & educational institute (Asturias)

Description
We live and work between mountains and sea: in the beautiful rural west of Asturias, close to the border with Galicia, we bought a small, old 3-hectare farm where, alongside regenerative agriculture, we're building an educational & community project. Content-wise, we focus on political, transformative and environmental education – but above all, both ourselves and in our educational formats, we're occupied with the question of utopias and how we can build them. That means, above all, proactively responding to the climate crisis by beginning with the regeneration of socio-ecosystems. Agriculturally, our task here is to establish a productive syntropic agroforestry system, which, in addition to making cider 'Sidra', an Asturian cultural heritage, is also designed for producing jams, dried fruits and many other products for our own consumption. Otherwise, alongside the 'house' pets – our dog Panthera and the cat Sophie – chickens, guinea fowl and ducks are also part of the land. Especially in our early days, a lot of the work will be about clearing up pollution left by the previous owners, nursing plants back to health and bringing in more diversity and habitats according to permaculture principles. We'd like stays that are at least 2-4 weeks long – beyond that it's open end! In the long run, we'd also be delighted about much longer stays or even an expansion of the team!
