How is volunteering different from other placements?
The focus is on helping itself – often for people who genuinely need support. Room and board are the thank-you, not the centrepiece.
Am I insured during the placement?
Personal liability and health insurance are your foundation – additionally clarify with the host what their insurance covers.
How much time should I bring?
Even a weekend helps; many placements welcome one or several weeks. The preferred duration is in the listing and usually flexible.
