Helping hands wanted for our PROBST grape harvest from September

A warm welcome to everyone interested in good WINE and mindful living in the countryside. In our small and fine winery with direct sales, there are various activities and events in every season where you're welcome to get an inside look during your holiday with us – in the vineyard, on the farm and in the PROBST WEIN GARTEN. More detailed information about us can be found on the website www.probst-wein.de with its own events calendar and also radio interviews to listen to. Our special events – also together with Schloss Seehaus in Markt Nordheim – give insight into the culture of winemaking and mindful enjoyment – especially at parallel blind tastings of different vintages, grape varieties and winemaking styles. If you know your way around computers and social media, you're also very welcome to contribute your skills freely here. What matters most to us is that holidaymakers experience up close what it means to make good wine and get to lend a hand themselves, in order to better understand and grasp it. The wine will certainly taste even better afterwards! ;-) Generally, the vineyard always needs a lot of attention and manual work so that healthy grapes can be harvested in autumn: At the beginning of the year the season starts with "pulling out the old pruned vines" and "tying down one cane" until the beginning of April, so that the new shoots can grow well. From May to July, most of the quality-enhancing manual work with the fresh foliage is needed in the vineyard. That means shoot thinning, tucking, clipping and leaf removal. In July/August further foliage or individual leaves and shoots are removed. From the beginning of September we get ready for the grape harvest, which depending on the vintage can stretch into October. If it happens to rain, we do labelling, work at the PC, wash glasses or tidy up. We're delighted at any time to welcome people who want to get a taste of our very varied winery life! For relaxing and unwinding, there are lots of cycling and hiking trails, gentle tourism, special concerts in summer at Schloss Seehaus (www.schloss-seehaus.de), the Franken-Therme with its salt lake (11 km away), and in about 60 min you can be in Nürnberg or Würzburg by car. SeelenSport one-on-one coaching can additionally be booked with me on request. More about that on the website. Public transport is unfortunately rather sparse. A car would be an advantage. Arrival by bike is possible and we're also happy to pick you up from the train station (15 min away). You can find more info and directions on our homepage.
